Biography
Salinda 's daughterIsobelle Brasher was born on September 24, 1855, in Crittenden County, Kentucky, to Elizabeth Gaines, age 25, and Mitchell D Brasher, age 43. In 1870 she was living on the family farm with her parents and siblings. [1]
She married Wilson Lee Travis on February 18, 1877, in Crittenden County, his second wife. They had seven children in 18 years. In 1880, their residence was given as Dycusburg. In addition to his son, Wilson Jr, she had her first son, William Samuel Travis. [2] In the 1900 census they are farming on rented land. her first two children have grown up and moved away, but she still has five children livinig in the home. [3] Her husband died in 1908 and in 1910 she was still living on a rented farm, helped out by her son, Perce. [4] In 1920 she was living with the family of her daughter, Corda. [5]
In the 1930 census she is still living with daughter, Cordie, [6] She died on October 31, 1936, in Dycusburg, Kentucky, at the age of 81. in the home of her daughter, Cordie May Travis Stinnett , and was buried in Crittenden County, Kentucky, in the Koons Cemetery. [7]
