The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, Fort Scott, Kan., with the Rev. Roy Miller and Pastor Gres Stine officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cheney Witt Chapel, Fort Scott, Kan.
Cheney Witt Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Sylvester Earl Travis, age 94, a resident of Fort Scott, died Thursday, September 21, 2006, at the Medicalodge of Fort Scott.
He was born July 28, 1912, in East Peru, Iowa, the son of Martin Beatty Travis II and Nellie Francis Hoover. He married Evelyn Lorraine Brooker-Finch on February 22, 1953, in Winterset, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 2002. He was employed by the Union State Bank of Winterset, Iowa, for10 years.
On February 12, 1951, he was publicly ordained in the ministry by the Grace Baptist Church of Winterset, Iowa. He ministered in churches throughout Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. His last full time pastorate was Bethel Community Church of Fort Scott, Kansas, where he retired in 1983. He then continued as interim pastor for churches in Missouri for 10 years.
Survivors include his two daughters, Janet Ruth Miller and husband, Roy, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Shirley Brooker Pitman and husband, Don, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; Four sons, Richard Brooker and wife Barbara, of Cedarville, Ohio, William Brooker, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Timothy Travis and wife, Kerri, of Fort Scott, and Paul Travis, of Roeland, Park, Kansas; and one sister, Wilma Carter of Winterset, Iowa. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Travis of Clarksville, Tennessee.
Pastor Greg Stine and Rev. Roy Miller will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2006, at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at Cheney Witt Chapel.
