Biography

Jeremiah was born in 1756. He passed away in 1801. (*) From UELAC: Jeremiah Travis was born at Van Courtlandt Manor in Westchester County, New York in 1756. He was a Loyalist during the American Revolution and removed to New Brunswick. His wife Margaret Barnes was a New Brunswick resident. Considering that Jeremiah came from a farming background in New York State it stands to reason that he was a farmer. Jeremiah was the 5th generation in the New World. His children were: Barnes b. 1789, John b. 1791, James b. 1794, Jeremiah b. 1798, William Henry b. 1801, Elizabeth b. 1802 , married Moses Tuck in 1828 (NOTE: when Elizabeth Travis Tuck died in 1857 she was 64 making her birth year 1793, death notice in New Brunswick Courier)
