(age 9 and b. in TN), son N. B. (age 7 and b. in TN), son John C. (age 4 and b. in TN), daughter Lucinda C. (age 1 and b. in TN), sister-in-law Rebecca Parmley (age 43 and b. in KY), and four apparently unrelated boarders. Wm. Travis was boss of a minetip.
James E. Ellis (b. Jun 1862 in TX) was head of a household in the 1900 census for Jefferson Co. AL. He was living with wife Lucy (b. Aug 1878 in TN), boarder Burg M. Travis (b. Jan 1874 in TN), and boarder Hugh D. Landrum (b. Apr 1876 in AL). James and Lucy had been married five years and had no children. James Ellis was an engineer. Burg Travis was a helper for a blacksmith.
Obituary
Mrs. Lucy Stephens Mrs. Lucy Travis Ellis Stephens died early Monday morning, July 30, in a local hospital. She had been in ill health for some time. She is survived by two sons, Tom Ellis of Mobile and Clyde Ellis of Pensacola, Fla.: two grandsons; one sister, Mrs. Mary Wood of Rock Mills; and one brother, T. V. Travis of Birmingham. Funeral services for Mrs. Stephens were held at ten oclock Tuesday morning at Quattle-baums Funeral Home. Rev. G. W. Bailey officiated. Interment was in Bay View Cemetery, Pensacola, with Quattlebaums directing.
