Biography

Catharine was born in 1770. She was the daughter of Hezekiah Treadwell and Sally Banks. [1][2] Catherine was baptized 4 June 1770 at the United Congregational Church at Bridgeport, Connecticut, where her parents were church members.[3] She passed away in 1848.[4][5]

Catherine married Silas Beardsley on 14 May 1789 at New Milford, Connecticut. They were the parents of nine children: Eunice, William, Mehetable, Joanna, Sarah, Loriane, Catherine, Silas and John. [4][5]

Catherine and Silas settled in Warren Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania on land that her father had given them, which her father had received for his service in the Revolutionary War.

After Silas passed away, Catherine married for her second husband Abraham Whitaker, 16 November 1829, in Warren, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania. She was 59 and he was 65 when they married. Abraham was a soldier of the Revolutionary Ward and received a pension for his service. [6]

Catherine died 10 May 1848 in Warren, at the age of 78. [4][5]>Her second husband, Abraham, lived a long life, and died in Warren at the age of 104.[7]
