Hi Sidra

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 41 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Here is a list of our WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects

Why don't you also stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Hi Sidra,

I haven't had any luck locating any records that would help you find the Bentleys you are looking for. I did however run across a reference page here on wikitree that appears to have many good sources. That page is https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:British_Columbia Sorry I didn't find anything. I'll keep those names in mind as I run across Bentleys from Canada. You might also consider posting the information you have in the g2g forum. Let me know if you any questions.

Thanks, John

How's everything going?

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Sidra, I noticed you are following the Bentley name. I started the Bentley Name Study. Feel free to check it out. If you'd like some help tracking down your Bentley line, please let me know. Welcome to WikiTree its a great place.

Thanks for volunteering, Sidra! You are now a confirmed member of the WikiTree community.

Your next step is to reread and sign the Honor Code. Here's how to use WikiTree.

If you feel lost, ask a question in our G2G forum. Most WikiTree members are happy to help a fellow genealogist.

Here's the G2G Question of the Week: If you had a time machine, when and where would you go?

If you want even more to do, check out these volunteer options.

Hi Sidra,

Welcome to the WikiTree family!

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, which means that all members work together as a single collaborative team. The Honor Code helps keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on one BIG tree.

The initial email from us has links you can use to get started. When you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree, beginning with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.

If you decide to volunteer, a greeter will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add new profiles to the tree.

Carole

P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
