Thomas Booker Tredway was born in Danville, Virginia to William Marshall Tredway and Nancy Milner Tredway on August 13, 1844.

Thomas B. Tredway and his brother would enlist in the CSA in 1861. Initially in Montagues Battalion, which became the 53rd Virginia Infantry, Company I. Thomas would gain rank of Sergeant, brother William M. Tredway, Jr. would rise from Private to Captain.
Thomas was critically wounded in the Battle of Gettysburg, and died in a Union hospital about 10 days after; July 13, 1863. More detail is given on his Findagrave page.
