William was Tredwell, son of William Tredwell and his wife, Elizabeth was baptised at Hadzor in Worcestershire on the 7th of November 1819. [1]
In 1844 at West Bromwich in Staffordshire he married Martha Greatorex. [2]
Late in 1861 William was awarded the contract to build three of the forts about to be constructed on Portsdown Hill for the defence of Portsmouth Harbour, Fort Nelson, Fort Widley and Fort Southwick. [3]
William died at Handsworth on the 11th of May 1871 leaving an estate valued at under £180,000. [4]
