Biography

Joshua Pitman Trefry III was born in 1788, the son of Joshua Pitman Trefry II and Elizabeth Kinney of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia[1]

In 1812 he married Bethia Eldridge, and had children[1] [2]

  1. Kimball, born 1813, who married Mary Godfrey the daughter of a lightkeeper from West Lubec Maine[3]
  2. Lydia, born 1815, who married Levi Teal of Cambridge, Mass[4]
  3. Thomas, born 1817, who went west. Was last heard from in 1870.
  4. Meredith, born 1819, who married Mary Smith of Lubec, Maine.[5]
  5. Emily, born 1821, who died at age 4
  6. Reuben Clements Trefry, born 1823, who married Letitia Kimball, daughter of Captain Samuel Kimball of Barrington on December 27, 1848[6] [7]
  7. William, born 1825, who settled in West Dennis Cape Cod and had a family.[8]

On November 29, 1860, he married a widow, Lavinia Crowell.[1]

Joshua Pitman Trefry III died April 7, 1870[1]
