Biography

Matilda Trefry was born January 10, 1804, the daughter of Joshua Pitman Trefry II (abt.1763-abt.1840) and Elizabeth (Kinnie) Trefry (1766-1832) of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia[1]

Marriage

Matilda married Captain James Rathburn on 15 December 1823 in Horton Landing, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada. [1]. Their children included:

  1. Lavinia, born 1827[2] who married Captain Ebenezer Curry of Horton, and had 2 sons: Albert[3], and Foster[2]
  2. Rachel, born 1830, who married Edwin Dickerson[4]
  3. Charles, who married Harriet Phinney[5] and then widow Susan (Faulkner) Munro[6]

Death

Matilda died 29 May 1870 in Avonport, Kings, Nova Scotia, and is buried in Riverbank Cemetery in Hantsport, Hants, Nova Scotia. [7][8] [9][10], and is buried in the Riverbank Cemetery in Hantsport
