Biography

John Trefry was born April 2, 1703 and baptized on April 18, the son of Thomas Trefy and Agnes (Annis) Dennis of Marblehead, Massachusetts[1], , who married Sarah Abbott January 9, 1724

On January 9, 1723, John Trefry married Sarah Abbott in Marblehead, Massachusetts.[2].

Their children included

  1. Abigail, baptized Aug. 1, 1725[3]
  2. John, baptized. Sept. 8, 1728[4], who may have died young.
  3. Sarah, baptized Apr. 25, 1731[5]
  4. Thomas, s. John and Sarah, bp. Sept. 9, 1733[6]
  5. John, baptized. Mar. 14, 1735-6[4], who may have died young.
  6. Mary, baptized. Jan. 15, 1737/8[7]
  7. Susannah, baptized Apr. 20, 1740[5]
  8. John, baptized Aug. 18, 1745[4]

A Sarah Trefry died in 1785 in advanced years[8]. This may have been Sarah Abbott.

These sources don't provide a death date for John. Either he or his cousin John Trefry could have married Tabitha Unknown and died in 1764, this probate record doesn't identify which John, or note children or age at death[9]
