Mark Trefry was born January 19, 1778, a twin, the son of Joshua Pitman Trefry and Mary Allen of Chebogue, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. [1]

He married Mary Falkner, and was the proprietor of a well-known public house on the Windsor Road. Having no children of their own they adopted Joshua, Zilpha and Jane, three children of his twin brother Thomas[2] [3] [4]

Mark died in 1868, and is buried in Meander Cemetery in Newport Landing, Hants County, Nova Scotia[5]
