Biography

Ann was baptized 22 March 1789, in Constantine, Cornwall, England; her parents William Tremaine and Elizabeth James of Constantine were married there 16 April 1781.

She was a very neat and properly dressed old lady.

Following her husband's death she lived with her youngest daughter, Emily Temby, and died at her home in 1872, Ogden, Iowa. She is interred at Glenwood Cemetery, Ogden, Iowa; the monumental inscription gives age as 89 but this is incorrect as she gave age as 82 in census of 1870 two years before death and 71 in census of 1860.
