Do you know who to find Noel Joseph Trembly and Germaine Leblanc Marriage in Quebec , he was the son Merilde and Elisa Therrien
posted by Ray Girouard
Are you sure they married in Quebec? Leblanc sounds like NB to me. You are talking about the ones you manage? She was born in NB and married there (another man) and died there. Looks like they might have married in NB...

Ken, I've offered to help a young man, Todd Tremblay B: 1982 in Oshawa Ontario to a Todd Tremblay and Tammy Lynn Townsend. Todd Jr has not done a DNA test. His wife Amanda put out the message to find the birth father. Todd Jr knew his father and mother s name. Have not other details if Todd and Tammy were married, divorced etc.

I recommended to Amanda that Todd should serious consider doing a DNA test and it will help find maybe a half-sibling and/or cousins.

Would you have a Todd Tremblay in your research. I'll estimate he was born late sometime between 1954 and 1962. Again son Todd was born 1982.

I'm on my Tremblay Family HIstory Private pages which is where Amanda first post and again because there is no DNA I believe others may not want to come forward

Hope you can assist in this research. Thank you. Cynthia McDonagh

Hello. No I don't have a Todd in my profiles. I deal mainly with people from Quebec as my database and search engine is based in Quebec.

Also, it covers people up to 1940. Anything after is very hard to find. I do people I know personally and build from there. I'll still try and have a look but I don't want to give you false hopes.

Good luck.

I've traces over 1500 ancestors using the web site https://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/genealogieSearch.aspx?lng=en

If any of your ancestors came to the US through Canada, you'll have a great time finding the information on them in this website. I find it very thorough and easy to search. Good Hunting. Contact me if you have any trouble with the site. I'd be happy to help. Elaine

Thanks! I know about the site. I use it more than it shows on my edits because I was told, as a beginner, that the site itself is not a reliable source. I use it as a reference but seldom as a source. Sometimes, they cite their sources so I use this one.

I highly recommend you go find the Tremblay Family group page on Facebook. James LaLone has updated the 12 Generations Book on the Tremblay Family started by Thomas LaForest from the Michigan Heritage Association. Pierre Tremblay and Ozanne Achon were the first Tremblay to settle in New France. At least 1 if not 2 of their grandsons and great grandsons made the trek to upper Michigan and Louisiana in lat 1700’s early 1800’s. Needless to say the Tremblay Family Name is very popular in France (Normandy), Quebec (Saguenay River, Baie St Paul), Upper Michigan and Louisana. If you would like more information and others to connect with just message me here. Cynthia McDonagh

PS I see your asking for information to merge “Diane Barron Tremblay”. She’s my Great Grandmother who passed in August 21, 1954 just 11 days after I was born. She was the only child of George Tremblay who passed in 1888. HIs wife (Diane’s mother) Philomene Girard remarried Hector Desbien. So my Tremblay lineage ended after my great grandmother Diane.

Thanks. I certainly know about Pierre and Ozanne; they appear 102 times in my tree ;)

I'm working now on your French Canadian part of the tree. It will most likely end in Europe unless I stumble upon an out-of-wedlock child somewhere (often can't find parents in that case)

Email me at [email address removed] and I will send you the Tremblay Family 12 Generation Historical Book and some other great documents that gives "historical information".

Again, why are you not on the FB Private Group "Tremblay Family History"? Its very well monitored and you have to prove your Tremblay Family Connection.

Ok. I'll take your word for it, as you don't have anyone in your tree yet. If you need help for people from the province of Quebec, just ask. Good luck with your tree!

Hey, potential eighth cousin! We may be descendants of Thibault-262, assuming that we didn't mess up our research, hahah. I'm in Michigan if you happen to need help getting records from here (especially in the Metro Detroit area), or I can try my best to help you with anything else. Not sure if you're aware of FamilySearch.org which can be very useful for searching for records in the US, Canada, and some other countries, you just need to create a free account to use it. Good luck and happy holidays!

Hi Ken,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS There is a new tool that can help with the GEDCOM cleanup. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Hi Ken

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz. As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project is essential

Please ensure locations are entered on all profiles and data matches the dates of the profile. Avoid abbreviations, add sources with citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources.  Please review Help Sources  /  Source for pre1700 Profiles  /  Pre-1700 Cite reliable sources

The Quebecois Project would be of interest. Add the tag Quebecois to connect.  Follow this link for your Tags:   your tags

Thanks! I'm still not able to edit pre-1700 profiles. Is that normal?
posted by Ken Tremblay
Hi Ken

No it is unusual, Pre-1700 means you can edit from 1500 forward. Anything before that requires a lot more work. Are you trying to edit pre-1500?

No, it was a 1600s but I get a warning of some sort concerning pre-1700 profiles and I didn't check after but it still edited. It works but the warning stays there, which made me think I couldn't. Thanks!
posted by Ken Tremblay
Hi Ken

The warning message is auto-generated on all pre-1700 profiles these profiles are more difficult to source and branches can become confused hence the warning it is to ensure members are a bit more careful in how they edit them. The further back the more difficult. Glad that it is sorted

All the best Janet
