BODY FOUND IN A LAKE
(FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT.) BIRR, Saturday.
A painful sensation was created at Ballingarry yesterday, when it became known that Mr. Hubert Roland Trench had committed suicide. It seems that the deceased gentleman had been ill for some time, but not to any serious extent. On Thursday night he appeared at dinner seemingly fairly well, but on Friday morning he was missing. A search was made, and from marks beneath his window, it was surmised he had dropped from his bedroom. After dragging an ornamental lake situated close to the residence, Sopwell Hall, the body was found clad in underclothes. An inquest was held last evening, when a verdict was returned that the deceased committed suicide whilst suffering from temporary insanity. Mr. Trench was the youngest son of the Hon. Cosby Trench, and was an athlete of considerable notoriety. He was only 24 years of age.[3]
