• Birthdate is baptismal date and Deathdate is burial date as there were no certificates at this time and these are from Parish Registers.

Philip was baptised on 22 Dec 1549. There are other dates given, particularly the IGI, which says 1555. The Ugborough Parish Register in its digitised form^[1] has been checked. There are no records for a Philip Trenicke in 1554, 1555, or 1556. The Baptismal Register gives his name as Phus, short for Philipus. Wth the use of latinized names he is known by the latin genative form Phi (of Phus) when referenced in his children's baptismal records. Philip is identifiable from his daughter Christian's baptismal record. ^[2]

• The Ugborough Parish Register in its digitised form has been checked. (Pages 14 through 17.)There are no records for a Philip Trenicke in 1554, 1555, or 1556.
• There is an IGI record giving him a second forename of Dernach, (LCCS-3XY).There is no basis for that in the Parish Records.^[3]
