Lavinia (Trethewey) Brewer was born in Cornwall, England.

Lavinia Trethewey was baptised on 24 October 1836 in St Stephen in Brannel. Her parents were Richard Trethewey, at the time a shoemaker, and his wife Catherine Hicks. The family lived at Carloggas in the parish of St Stephen in Brannel. [1]

Lavinia married Richard Brewer by banns on 5 July 1857 in St Stephen in Brannel. She was 21 and resident in Carloggas, while her groom was 26 and a miner resident in St Stephen Churchtown. The bride's father was recorded as Richard, a labourer, and the groom's as Francis, also a labourer. The witnesses were Thomas Trethewey and Philip Pinch.[2][3]

Lavinia died in Brunswick, Victoria, Australia, and was buried in the Methodist section of Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery on 18 December 1919. [4]
