Bertram was born in England in 1889. He was the son of Richard Trethewey and Bertha Donne. His birth was registered in Brentford in the last quarter of 1889. [1]
Bertram served as a Second Lieutenant in the South African Infantry, ('A' Coy. 4th Regt). He was killed in action in Flanders in September 1917. [2][3][4] His will was proved in London on 15 July 1918.
