Biography
John was born about 1810[1] in Penryn, Cornwall.[2] He was the son of William Trevena.[3]
John worked as a miner[4] and as an engineman.[5]
He married Sophia Matthews in Perranuthoe on 10 December 1848.[6][7]
They had five children:
- William Trevena (1848-abt.1894)
- John Trevena (1852-1898)
- Elizabeth Ann Trevena (1854-)
- Charles Matthews Trevena (1856-1883)
- Henry Matthews Trevena (1858-1916)
In 1851 John and Sophia are living in Gorse Lane, Redruth with son William (2y) and lodger William Trevena.[8]

He passed away in Redruth in 1859, aged 54 years.[9][10] and was buried in Redruth on 18 September.[11]
