Elizabeth Ann Trewin migrated from Plymouth, England, with parents and 5 Siblings on the ship Able Marle to Australia arriving Port Phillip Bay on the 07 Jul 1853. They all first settled at Geelong where parents opened a butcher's shop. The family moved on to Linton and later Coghills Creek where they purchased land and farmed.[1].

Marriage did not take place in East Stonehouse in 1854, unless the parties returned to England for the ceremony. Following arrival in Victoria in 1853, the marriage took place and was registered in Victoria.
