DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:

A definite problem with this profile. The obvious problem is the closeness of her two marriages and the fact that she was married to both husbands at the same time - as is evidenced by the list of children with different surnames born about the same time, and the fact that her first husband lived to be 91, well after her 1738 marriage to him. Thus, unless there were two Elizabeth Tripps (probability may be high for this), one in Massachusetts and the other in Rhode Island where the marriages occurred, and two Daniel Dunhams (a distinct possibility) this profile needs extensive correction.

There appears to be 3 Elizabeth Tripps born in 1721/22 in Dartmouth. And 2 more, one in 1725 (but in Portsmouth, RI), the other in 1726. What could possibly go wrong? The following are taken from the Massachusetts Vital Records, https://ma-vitalrecords.org/MA/Bristol/Dartmouth/Images/Dartmouth_B280.shtml

Elesabeth [sic], d. John, Aug 23, 1722 Elezebeth [sic], d. Benjamin, May 6, 1722 Elizebeth [sic], d. James Jr. and Anne, Sept. 16, 1721 Elizebeth [sic], d. Frances and Wait, July 29, 1726

Now any one of these, plus the one from RI, could have married Daniel or Elisha. We do get some help in the Dartmouth marriages, https://ma-vitalrecords.org/MA/Bristol/Dartmouth/Images/Dartmouth_M506.shtml

Elisabeth [int. Elizabeth, d. Benjamin and Elisabeth of D., and William Gifford, s. Jeremiah and Mary of D., 2d, 2 mo., "called April," 1741 Elizebeth and Elisha Akin, both of D., July 5, 1739. (would have been more help if her dad had been recorded) Elizebeth of D., d. John, and Robert Brownell of D., s. Joseph, Aug. 8, 1745.

So, Benjamin's Elizabeth married William Gifford. John's Elizabeth married Robert Brownell. One of the other 3 Elizabeths married Elisha Akin and another married Daniel Dunham.

That ends my research, for now.
