He was born by 1746 and his first child was born in 1768. He died in the Essex quarter of Saybrook 30 August 1819. He died intestate, but the distribution of his estate is recorded naming his children. He is said to have married (1) Ruth Stannard about 1767 and he married (2) Margaret Starkey, died June 1813. He had one daughter by his first wife and ten children by his second wife. She extensively documented her findings and to this day this is the greatest asset of her work. Margaret was published in "The Genealogist" in the Spring of 1983 providing a wealth of information entitled "Descendants of John Tripp of Portsmouth, R.I. CONT We hope that through her efforts she is able to unlock the mysteries that some of you might be troubled with and through your efforts and determination YOU might be able to uncover the ancestors of her William Tripp. Last updated September 8, 2002.
