Biography

Jane Trotter was born about 1772 and is named in the 1792 Will of her father, Josiah Trotter. She married Moses Cranor about 1794, perhaps earlier. Her sister, Hannah Trotter, was married at the time to the brother of Moses, Thomas Cranor.

In 1840, her husband Moses Cranor was enumerated as head of the household in Guilford, North Carolina

Free White Persons - Males - 70 thru 79: 1 (Moses Cranor)
Free White Persons - Females - 60 thru 69: 1 (Jane).

She presumably died between 1840 and 1850 as she is not on the 1850 census with Moses.
