Biography

James Trowbridge was born on January 24, 1826 in Virginia to Samuel Trowbridge and Jane McGrew.[1]

James married Sarah Snider in 1850 according to the 1900 census.[2]

According to the 1870 census, James lived with Sarah and their children, Albert, Mary, Anzoretta, Catherine, Charles, Sarah, Luvenia, Signora, and Joseph in Lewis County, West Virginia.[3]

According to the 1900 census, James lived with Sarah and their children, Thurman and Georgia, in Kingwood, West Virginia.[2]

James died on April 3, 1909 in Kingwood, West Virginia.[1]

James McGrew Trowbridge died at his home in Kingwood, Saturday, April 3, at 1. o’clock p m, of a complication of diseases incident to old age. He was 83 years, 2 months and 10 days. The funeral was held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Interment at Kingwood cemetery. H was the eldest son of Samuel G. and Jane McGrew Trowbridge and a nephew of Hon. James C McGrew of Kingwood. He is survived by a wife and several children.

He is buried in the Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood, West Virginia.[4]
