William Troxel, son of Henry W. and Mary (Shepherd) Troxel, was born September 30, 1875 near Oakley, Macon County, Illinois and died July 3, 1958 at Weatherford Oklahoma. He was buried July 9, 1958 at Weatherford. He married Mary, and they had four children, 1 boy and 3 girls, whose names are unknown at this time.
William lived in Pottawatomie County, Okla. until 1900 or later then moved to Weatherford Okla. He was a farmer and lived on the farm until his later years when he moved into Weatherford. William married, second, Kate Louella Bliss in August of 1904. She was the daughter of John and Catherine (Ranno) Bliss. Kate was born December 31, 1869 and died at Clinton, Okla. on July 6, 1958. She and William were buried same day, July 9, 1958, at Weatherford, Okla.
Their children were: William John Troxel (born July 28, 1905) and Jacob L. Troxel (born April 1, 1909).

Married 54 Years, Couple Depart Life Few Hours Apart
After 54 years of life together, William and Kate Louella Troxel were buried here Wednesday. Death claimed one and then the other within a space of a few hours. The combined age of this couple that had lived in or near Weatherford since 1922 was 162 years.
Mrs. Troxel passed away early Sunday morning at the Oklahoma General Hospital, Clinton, Okla. Her husband had preceded her in death Saturday morning at the Weatherford Nursing Home. Both were natives of Illinois. Troxel, 84, was born September 30, 1873 and Mrs. Troxel, 88, was born December 31, 1869. They both lived in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma around 1900. They were married 1904. Mrs. Troxel was a school teacher and her husband was a farmer. In 1922 they moved to the Weatherford community and lived on a farm until 1932 when they moved into Weatherford.
Funeral services for the couple were held Wednesday afternoon from the Lockstone Chapel with the Rev. George Baker and Rev. F. A. Oliver officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Two sons, W. J. Troxel and Jake Troxel, both of Weatherford, survive their parents. Other survivors include five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Troxel's brother, Noah Troxel, of Shawnee and Mrs. Troxel's brother, John Bliss of Grady, New Mexico, and her sister Mrs. Ella Taylor, Monterey Park, Calif.[1]
William is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford, Custer County, Oklahoma, USA, Plot: B.[2]
On September 12, 1918 William signed his World War One draft card (serial number 1755, order number 238). His residence is listed as Route 1 Cordell, Washita County, Oklahoma. William's age is listed as 42, date of birth as Sept 30, 1875, race white, and U.S. citizenship as Native Born. His occupation is as a self-employed farmer. William gives Katie L. Troxel living at the same address. His description is medium height, slender build, with brown eyes and black hair. The Registrar's Report number is 35-3-39-C.[3]
