'Biography

I was born in Belfast in the 1950’s to Thomas Truesdale and Beatrice May nee Bancroft, father born in Belfast and mother born in Cheshire England. I am one of seven children five bros and one sister. We lost a sibling Ernest in infancy aged 2 months In January 1949

Having been a member now since 2018 I have got better than when I first began on Wikitree. I have hit my dreaded brick wall so to speak since I started out on my genealogy journey in 2011. So I am reaching out to anybody on Wikitree that might help myself and cousins here on my profile to get further than our 3 x g grandfather William Truesdale/Trousdale b 1815 in Newry Co Down N Ireland and possibly who his wife’s may have been. I have heard that many records was allegedly destroyed in a fire in the Newry registry office about 1920 so it’s difficult locating birth, marriage and death records. The Truesdale surname is spelt in variation of syllables eg: Truesdale, Truesdell used in the USA and Trousdale. See: Truesdale-314 possible ancestor?

Going from my Dna results I have many cousins in the USA with the various spelling on my unusual surname. With my mother’s maiden name being “Bancroft” I also have to note that the name too is used in the USA. I’m hoping to share any names that might be of interest to others here on Wikitree.
