Job was a Quaker. Virginia Quakers were percecuted by colonal Virginia. Maryland Gov. Calvert invited them to flee to Maryland and gave them each 50 acres of land. The Truitt's and Timmons were early Marland Quaker families. And they married within their religion. [1]
In October 1705, Jobe Truitt was listed among many Somerset residents indebted to the estate of John Edgar. Edgar was probably an English merchant who was a middleman in the tobacco trade.[2] There are a number of other Truitt family members on the list:
Truitt, George, probably George Truitt 1465 lbs of tobacco; £0.11.1
Truitt, Phillip: 2022 lbs of tobacco; £5.14.1. Could this be Phillip Truitt? It is the largest debt in the group.
Truitt, Job 95 lbs of tobacco; £0.12.0
Truitt, James, possibly James Truitt: 67 lbs of tobacco; £0
Truitt, John: 1880 lbs of tobacco; £5.6.0; 565 (of another crop)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Job by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Job:
Dawn, I believe you are correct that this profile should be two generations back, either Job (1667) or John (1662), son of George Truitt and Alice Watson. OK to change this accordingly? See MilesFiles for some references.

"Warning: Check the data. A mother's death date should not be before one of her children's birth dates."
ANSWER: Appears that Jon born 1672, his poor mom would have been 53 years OLD!... not sure mother nature would allow it, but it has been done...
I think we need to find a source for this very late in life child....Taylor-25258 09:14, 24 April 2017 (EDT)
and then I looked at Jon's and it too has a WARNING... Thank you for your help Carole
