George first married Mary Purnell b. 1673 [1]
George Truitt married secondly c1721 to Elizabeth OUTTEN b: c1706. In April, 1727, he was present as "near kin" when the inventory of Elizabeth's brother Thomas Outten was taken.[2]
He resided in Maryland. [3]
Jun 6, 1746 Will of George Truitt In the Name of God Amen, I George Truitt of Mulberry Grove in the County of Worcester in the Province of Maryland being sick and weak of Body but of Perfect mind and memory calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing it is appointed for all Flesh once to die do make this my Last Will and Testament and desire it may be received as by all as Such; --
Item, I give and bequest unto my Eldest Son John Truitt after the decease of his mother Elizabeth Truitt all the Land on the North West Side of the County road until it comes to the division between me and my Cousin Phillip it being that Part of that Tract whereon I now dwell called Mulberry Grove and to be holden of him and his heirs afsigns for Ever after the decease of his Said Mother She having the use of Said Land during her Natural Life--
Item, I give and Bequeath unto my Son George Truitt one hundred and forty acres of Land after the Decease of his Mother Elizabeth Truitt lying on the South East side of the County Road and being part of Mulberry Grove and to be holden by him his heirs and afsigns forever after the decease of his Said Mother She having the use of the said Land during her Natural Life –
Item, I give and Bequest unto my Son Job Truitt one hundred Acres of Land called Truitt Harbour also forty acres adjoining to it being Part of Mulberry Grove also one Bed and Furniture also one Cow and calf to be holden of him his heirs and Afsigns forever –
Item, I give and bequesth unto my Son Outen one Negro man named Ned to beholden by him and his heirs and afsigns for ever after the decease of his Said Mother she having the use of the Said Negro during her Natural Life –
Item, I give and bequeath unto my Son Samuel Truitt one Negro Boy called Jacob to be holden of him and his heirs afsigned after the decease of his Said Mother Elizabeth Truitt She having the use of him during her Natural Life –
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah one Shilling Sterling to be paid by my Executrix.
Item, I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Ester Turner one Cow and Calf to be holden of her and her heirs forever –
Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Truitt one Feather Bed and Furniture also one Cow and one Calf to be holden of her and her Heirs and Afsigned for ever –
Item I Will and bequeath unto my Beloved Wife the use of the Plantation whereon I now dwell also the use of all my Negros also the use of the Rest and Residue and remainder of my Estate during her Natural Life not before given to be holden by her my beloved Wife Elizabeth Truitt the Sole use of Land Negros & Chattles during her natural Life –
Item, I give and bequeath unto my two youngest daughters after the decease of their said Mother Elizabeth which is my daughter Mary Truitt and Tabitha Truitt the rest and Residue of my Goods and chattels which has not heretofore been given to be equally divided between them and to be holden of them their heirs and afsigns for ever after the decease of their Said Mother She holden the use during her Natural Life.
Lastly, I constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Elizabeth Truitt my Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament revoking all others by me made and standing only to this, In Testimony where of I have now unto Set my hand and Seal this fifth day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty Six.
Signed Sealed Publish’d & Declared (signed) George Truitt / seal in the Presence of us Wallis Evans, William Jasman, Joseph Carter. On the Back of the foregoing Will was thus written Viz.---
July 9, 1746 Came Joseph Carter and Walter Evans two of the Subscribing Witnefses to the within Will and made Oath on the Body Evangels of Almighty God that they saw George Truitt the Testator Sign Seal and heard him—Publish from??? And declare that the within Will is his Last Will and Testament and that at the time f his so doing ??? to the best of their Knowledge & App… of a Sound Dispersing Mind and Memory and that they Subfribed their Names as Witnefses.
