Biography

John Trumpf was born about 1845 in Strasbourg, France. He was a son of Jacob and Salome Trumpf. ^{[1] [2]}

John Trumpf married Margareth Kunz on 27 December 1861 at Watertown, Jefferson County, Wisconsin. The groom was a farmer residing in the township of Lowell, Dodge County. He was born at "Strassburg", France. Parents of the groom were listed as Jacob and Salome Trumpf. Parents of the bride were listed as Christoph and Margreth Kunz. Henry Senn, Minister of the Gospel, performed the religious ceremony. ^{[1] [3]}

John "Tramp" appeared as Head of Household on the 1870 U.S. Census at Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin. He was listed as a 24-year-old farmer, born in France, with real estate valued at $500 and personal estate valued at $300. ^[2]

It appears that John Trumpf died between 1870 and 1874 because his wife, Margaret, gave birth to a son by her second marriage in 1875. If so, it is likely that he died in Dodge County, Wisconsin. The site of his burial could not be found.
