Geneva was the second daughter and youngest child of Joseph Tryon and Ellen Cummings. After graduating from Vassar in 1896 she taught Latin and Greek in Mrs. Life's School, at Rye, NY for a time.[1] She graduated from Tufts Medical School, becoming a physician-psychiatrist. She appeared in Woman's who's who of America, 1914-15, with the following entry: Physician; born Cambridge Mass 1873; dau Joseph and Ellen (Cummings) Tryon; ed. private school, Cambridge Latin School, Vassar College A.B. '96; Tufts Coll. Med. School M.D. '07. Episcopalian. Mem. Mass. Medical Soc, Am. Med. Ass'n. Teacher of Latin, Rye (N.Y.) Sem., 1896-1902; resident physician Pontiac (Mich.) State Hospital since 1909.[2]
