Bascom was the fourth son, seventh child, of Albert Tryon and Hulda Slaughter. He married Amy E. Butts Daniels, daughter of J. F. Butts and Elura Tillotson and widow of Sterling Daniels, on February 27, 1922 in Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa.[1]

WESLEY: Bascom B. Tryon was born Feb. 16, 1866, and died June 23, 1949, at the Rust home for the aged in Britt. His wife preceeded him in death April 5, 1946, and since that time he made his home in the rest home. The only survivors are Frank Tryon of Austin, Minn., and Harold Tryon of Louisiana. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Bethel Baptist church in Britt and burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Wesley.[2] NOTE: the Mason City Globe-Gazette published a similar obituary on June 28, but mentioned that the two survivors were nephews.
