Biography

Elizabeth Tryon was baptized 7 Feb 1725 in Middletown, Hartford, Connecticut [1], daughter of Abel Tryon and Abiel. She married John Green 2 May 1745 in Middletown. [2] [3]

They had at least three children, all born in Middletown:[3]

  1. Lucia, b. 9 Mar 1746 [4][5]
  2. John, b. 6 Nov 1747 [4] [6]; probably died young?
  3. Elizabeth, b. 22 Nov 1750 [4][7]

Research Notes

She was the second Elizabeth of these parents, the first being born 25 Oct 1714: "[Triall] Elizabeth, d. [Abell & Abiall], b. Oct 14, 1714" [8]. Many of her siblings are in this same listing under the surname Triall with others Tryon.

Unpublished tree indicates her death 4 Dec 1795. I find no source for this.

The distribution on 1 February 1762 of her father's estate names her as Elizabeth Green.[9]

On 1 February 1763, she and her husband sold to Benjamin Bevin her share of some land she inherited from her father, and on 16 May 1763, they sold him their share of her father's house lot.[9]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:

Tryon-654 and Tryon-18 appear to represent the same person because: These two appear to be the same person (see Research Notes). They have the same parents and the difference in birth dates is undocumented for one of them.
