Biography

John Mark was the 11th child, ninth son, of John Tryon and Lydia Sadler.

He served in the Civil War as a corporal in Company H, 16th Ohio Infantry[1], receiving a pension from 18 Sep 1863[2]

He married first Margaret Lawrence on 22 Sep 1864 in Wayne County, Ohio.[3] She died in 1888.

He married second Ella Purman on 28 Mar 1889 in Ft. Wayne, Allen, Indiana.[4]

He died in Monroeville, Allen, Indiana of myocarditis.[5]

Death

Records give two different death dates. The first is 1901,[6] and the second 1904.[7] A reference to an obituary printed 01 Dec 1904 in the Loudonville Democrat appears in an Ohio Index.[8][9] Records also give two different places: Monroeville, Allen, Indiana for Nov 19 1904[10] and the Ohio Deaths and Burials already referenced (for 1901). His Indiana death certificate indicates removal to Ohio for burial, which may explain the discrepancy between Ohio and Indiana, but not the discrepancy of date.
