Matrimonial permit was granted to Mackel Slater and Miss Agnes Clara Taylor, on the 1st inst.[1]

NOTE: Find a Grave memorial says "48 years married", which cannot be correct, as that would have her marrying the same year she was born. Correction sent.

In 1910 widower Mark is living with a daughter Irma married name Held.

Nothing about this family appears straightforward, and finding more documentation would be very useful. She appears in a number of records (including her son Leroy's marriage record) as having been named Taylor, not Tryon (it is not a mis-transcription). See note on 1900 census re her mother and father's birthplaces, whereas Chester is there in the family and gives his birthplace as New York. None of the children linked to her on Find a Grave (except Leroy and Robert) appear on the 1900 census with birth years that coincide or come reasonably close.
