1850 census lists just the initials C. A. for a daughter born about 1836 PA. See reasons section below for assuming she was Almira Tryon who married Merrill Hawkins about 1854.
Almira Hawkins died of heart disease in 1907 in Edinboro, Pennsylvania.[1]
Basis for claim that C. A. Tryon and Almira Tryon Hawkins are the same person
Age: C. A. Tryon was born about 1836 PA; Almira Hawkins was born August 1836 PA
Birth place. Though some of Almira Hawkins's children gave her birth place as CT or NY, all entries in censuses (where she could presumably answer for herself) give birth place as Pennsylvania (except 1880 census, which says NY), and her death certificate says Washington Twp (in Erie County) Pennsylvania as well. Son Neland's death certificate gives her place of birth as Pennsylvania.[2]
Information on her death certificate gives her father's name as T. Tryon
She appears with Merrill Hawkins and a child of theirs whose age indicates they married about 1854, one year following the death of Hawkins's first wife Mary in 1853.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Almira by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
A number of children of Timothy's appear with him and Lydia in the 1850 census, but only identified by initials. One is C. A. Tryon, female, b abt 1836, PA. I believe she may be Almira Hawkins, second wife of Merrill Hawkins. She died in Erie, PA in 1907 and is buried in the cemetery in Edinboro. Her death certificate lists her father as "T. Tryon" and her birth place as Washington T(ownship?), Pennsylvania. Age is also right for her to be "C. A." See research notes in Hawkins-8777.
