That Edwin Tryon was a son of Rowland Tryon is confirmed by church records showing he was baptized in Stamford, Connecticut with two brothers and a sister on 24 Jan 1817, not long after his father underwent adult baptism in the same church. His probable mother, not named, was baptized "on her sick bed" in 1814.[1]
He is little found in records, but a county history of Ingham County, Michigan, notes that he was elected as supervisor in 1843 but died before completing his term of office.[2]
He married Phebe Louisa Budd, daughter of Mary Lum and John Cozens Budd, no date or place given. After his death Phebe married a second time, to Mr. Loundsberry of Michigan.[3][4]
Alternatively, the death certificate of his daughter, Isabelle, states that her mother was Phoebe Dickinson of New Jersey. The reporter was W.H. Atwood; no relationship given.
The 1840 census suggests he and Phebe had two sons and a daughter.
He died 2 Dec 1846.[5] According to the reference he is buried in the Tryon Cemetery, Royalton, Berrien, Michigan.
