Research Notes
Due to the change in use of names from Harriet to Hattie to Mae and due to knocking about 4 years off her age in the 1900 census, at first it was thought that there were two sisters: Harriet (married Taylor) and Hattie Mae (married Eugene Roniger). Examination of the 1860 and 1870 census showed that there was one daughter, not two.
However, it is now necessary to trace what happened to the first husband, James Taylor, and the elder daughter Eva Taylor, and to try to find a marriage record for her and Eugene Roniger.

Determined through 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses that there was a duplication between Harriet Taylor and Hattie Mae Roniger. She married a second time, though exactly where and when I haven't yet found (marriage possibly listed as TaylorRoniger). Need to find out what happened to first husband James Taylor and daughter Eva Taylor to clarify further.
