Biography

William was born September 1846 in Athens County, Ohio. He was the son of Jason Tryon and Laura Gregg. In 1850, the family lived in Canaan Township, Athens County, Ohio, where his father farmed.[1] By 1860, the family was living in Davis County, Kansas, where his father also farmed.[2] By 1865, they were living in Elm Creek Township, Saline County, Kansas, where his father continued to farm.[3]

By 1870, William was living with his sister Abigail's family in Delaware Township, Wyandotte County, Kansas, where he worked as a farm laborer.[4] There is no record of where he lived in 1880, but as he lived his final years in Pueblo, Colorado near his brother Henry's widow, it's possible he lived near Henry's family in Buchanan County, Missouri, where he married and had a family.

By 1900, he was living in Pawnee Township, Pawnee County, Oklahoma, near his sister Laura's family. He was widowed and living on his own as a farmer.[5] There he met Cordelia Tanner, his niece Rosa Johnston's widowed mother-in-law. He and Cordelia married in 1904. By 1910, they were living in Enid Township, Garfield County, Oklahoma, where he worked as a gardener.[6]

Sometime after 1910, they moved to Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado. Cordelia's son, John David, listed their Pueblo address in his World War I draft registration card.

William passed away November 2, 1918 and was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado.[7] Cordelia continued to live in Pueblo, Colorado after her third marriage to Henry Revelle in January 1920. Henry passed away in 1929 and was also buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado.

Tryon-3556 and Tryon-3206 appear to represent the same person because: Merge on basis of claim of same parents - keep death date/location of 1918 which is quasi documented,

Presently there is an unmerged match, I presume on basis of knowledge of the parents of the other William. The date and possibly location of death are discrepant. The other record is fairly sparse and i have not found much else to supplement. The basis of death date and location on this record is limited to a findagrave record without image.

Believe this profile should be merged with Tryon-3206. Father is Jason Tryon, mother Laura Gregg
