Biography

Ichabod, son of Jonathan Tryon, was baptized in Middletown on 20 Jun 1756.[1]

An Ichabod Tryon enlisted on May 6, 1775 and served as a private in the 4th Company of the 2nd Regiment (Gen. Spencer's). This regiment was raised on the first call for troops by the Connecticut Colonial Legislature in April-May 1775. The troops were recruited mainly in Middlesex County and the eastern part of Connecticut Colony. The regiment served in the siege of Boston and was adopted as part of the Continental Army in July of 1775. The record says Ichabod Tryon died on July 18, 1775.[2] The unusualness of his name suggests that these two are one and the same.
