Rebecca was born in 1769. She appears to be a daughter of David Tryon and Susannah Derrickson. A child of theirs, name not recorded, was baptized 25 Aug 1769 in Holy Trinity or Old Swedes' Church in Wilmington [1]. The child is indexed as being male but there is nothing in the record that suggests that. The hand written record is a list of baptisms. Each starts with a name, "B of" and a birth date, "Baptized" and a date, and "Parents" followed by names. The line for this child has no name followed by a B, no date, and then the baptism and parents. The blanks were not unusual as many had no birth date in the list of baptisms at a church. The missing name was unusual.
She married Ebenezer Jones in 1792. They had a son David in 1793.
Research Notes
The 1830 census below is the right name and place but ages don't work out very well. There are 4 children 5-14, a 40-49 male, a 30-39 female, and a 50-59 female.
