Regarding earlier first marriage and son Truman

There are many records for a Truman C. Tryon, born late 1830s, who served in the Civil War from Ohio. No records had been found linking him to Andrew until now, 2023. The family surname was mistranscribed as Trim. In the 1850 census of Sabula, Jackson, Iowa [5] we find Andrew S Trim, age 40, brick maker, with wife Alice T Trim and children Truman C Trim, Spencer W Trim, Adelaide C Trim, Emma H Trim, and Gustavus Trim.

It occurs to me that the 1860 record attached to some of his children with house headed by Richard Tryon - this has a fair likelihood of beinhg Andrew misidentified, or giving a different name.

Alice, who is present is likely Alice Alvord (her birth is within 2 years of what we have) -- the children appear mostly (if not exclusively) to be those of Andrew.

Richard, Alice and several of the children -- Spencer, Adelaide, Emma are indexed as Mass. but the record shows NY for state of birth. It's incorrect on the children as far as I can see.

"United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MXH8-75J : 13 December 2017), Richard Tryon, 1860.

The record clearly gives the name of Richard, however the indexing has birth location incorrect. It is NY for both Richard and Alice in the document, though the orthography could mislead the indexer to interpret them as Mass.

I am finding no other record of Richard of this age in Illinois (or later Iowa where the family moved) . We have not located an 1860 document for Andrew.

Two girls yet to add: Alice & Agnes (?) aged abt 10 & 11 per census, however:

Some trees give Martha as first name for Agnes. There is a findagrave record for Morgan county, IL for a Martha Tryon died 1863, age 12. Daughter of Andrew & A Tryon. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/85072097 . It may be that the younger Alice listed in the 1860 census is an infant and the record intends 11 months instead of 11 years.
