Edward was born in 1739. "Edward, s. W[illia]m & Sarah b. Mar. 14, 1738/9"[1][2][3] He was baptized in Middletown on the 18th of March 1739.[4]

Edward Tryon may be the person mentioned in the records of the Brigantine Minerva, defending Connecticut Colony in 1775.[5] "Edward Tryon, Mariner, Page 230, Brigantine Minerva, Company: Hall's; Company Command: Hall, Giles Capt., Colony of Connecticut, 1775 Muster Roll for Brigantine Minerva fitted out for defense of Colony."

He passed away in 1800.[6]
