William was born about 1810, son of Solomon Tryon and his wife Sarah. The tie to this family is found through his will and his sister Charlotte's will (see profile of Solomon for details).
He married Catherine B Clark (b. KY, tho children sometimes report TN) 4 Dec 1843, Jerseyville, Jersey, Illinois [1] [2]. They had children George William, Henry P., and Henrietta (Hattie). Catherine died in the 1870s, probably 1875. These three children are named in William's will as his children.
He does not live with Catherine and the children in the 1870 census in Tebo, Henry, MO [3].
He married second Jane Poynton 15 May 1875, in California, Missouri [4]. They had a daughter Minerva (Minnie) William 27 Apr 1878. Minnie married Thomas Hardin in 1908 and she died 12 Oct 1955.
William died about 1879 and his will was probated 1879-1880 [5]. His will includes his wife Jane, the three children by his first wife, and names his sisters Minerva and Charlotte, the latter of whom was deceased as of the writing. The original date on the will is 1 Aug 1875, amended in Nov 1878, and filed 20 Jan 1879.
His second wife, Jane, and their daughter are found in the 1880 census living with Frank and Mary Smith and is listed as sister in law of Frank [6].
His birth year varies 1810-1814 in records. In the 1810 census for his father he is likely one of the two males under ten year of age.
