Biography

Ephraim was born in 1824. He married Charlotte Mathews in 1847. No children are found in the records. He served in the Civil War. He died in 1907. His wife is still alive and living with him in the 1905 census but not mentioned in the 1907 obituary.

Research Notes

Given his location in Homer township, Ohio, through 1860, and that the 1900 census gives father's birthplace as Vermont, mother as Ohio, he is almost certainly a son of Elijah Tryon and Lydia Bussard.

FindAGrave record gives death 12 July 1910 which is actually the date of the newspaper notice of final settlement of probate. His obituary [1] gives 6 July 1907 which agrees better with pension records. Obituary also gives birth date of 29 Mar 1824. Edits have been submitted to FindAGrave.
