Zebina was the fifth child, fifth son, of William Tryon and Susanna Spofford. He was baptized in Deerfield (under the name Trion) with three brothers Calvin, Levi and Luther, on September 29, 1787.[1] NOTE: the record states "Zebina, d[aughter] of William and Susanah".
Zebina declared intention to marry Emily Hodge [sic] of Hadley on 7 Jan 1809.[2]
"Zebina, father of Rodolphus, was born in 1785. He was bred to the life of a farmer, and married Miss Emily Hodges. They reared a family of five children, three sons and two daughters. He died in Madision Co., N. Y., in 1830.[3]
Research Notes
Probate, 1829-1832: Probate papers are about 75 pages with many inventories, bills, etc. Probate names Joseph Beach administrator and bond paid 30 Aug 1830. By that date there is no widow. It gives a death date of 19 Aug 1829. Document names Rodolphus, William (unclear), Dwight, and Amanda as heirs. All are named as minors initially and later Rodolphus comes of age. Rodolphus is Rodolphus Tryon, William would be William H. Tryon, Dwight would be Edwin Dwight Tryon, Amanda would be Emeline Amanda Tryon. There is also a daughter Susan (Tryon) Wing who is not mentioned here but is a documented daughter.
