He married Edith Campbell Watson in 1894 [2] in Paddington, London, England. They had sons Richard George Lawrence Tryon in 1902 and Julian Guy Tryon in 1907. They are linked to parents through Edith's probate records [3].

Gazetted to the Rifle Brigade in 1890, he retired in 1895, and was attached to the Reserve of Officers. In 1904 he joined the Northamptonshire Yeomanry as Major. When the War broke out he was posted to the 6th Battalion of the Rifle Brigade, and at the time of his death he was serving with the 2nd Kings Royal Rifle Corps. He was killed in action at Cuinchy, on January 10, 1915.[4][5][6] He is remembered at the memorial at Le Touret, Pas de Calais, France.[7] This memorial commemorates soldiers killed in this sector but who have no known grave.

Henry Tryon is probably a cousin, though Richard did have a brother Henry. There is a note in in the pictures web site that Richard was the nephew of Admiral Charles Tryon, may have had a son Henry as well. Obviously this branch of the Tryons were a military family! I will check it out.
Paragraph on his brother is inconsistent with other data (suggests a different father)
