Biography

The death certificate supports the conclusion that Casper D. Tryon and Maria (Mariah) Dibble Tryon are Emily's parents. This is further supported by the New York State 1865 Census that places Emily and John Ennes and their children in Mentz (Port Byron), Cayuga County, NY, USA. In the 1855 NY Census Casper and Maria Tryon along with 14 year old Emily also lived in Mentz. Casper died in 1885 in Auburn, Cayuga County, NY, USA, which is very near Mentz. At this time there is no record of Maria's death. Emily and her family remained in the Mentz area until at least 1900 according to the U.S. census.
