Eliza was born in Shoreditch in 1818, her parents were James and Ann.[1]
Eliza lived as the wife of widower John Pickersgill for over 10 years before they married in 1850. [2] They already had 4 children by the time they married. The children were registered with the surname Pickersgill and Eliza's maiden name of Tuck.[3]
John and Eliza had 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys.
In 1841 Eliza and John are living together in Bethnal Green with his 2 oldest daughters and their own daughter, aged 1. [4]. In 1851 the now large family lived at High Hill Ferry, Clapton, Hackney. [5]. In 1861 the family lived at Caledonian Cottage, Bethnal Green, John is a lace and Braid maker aged 53. [6].
