Rhonda was born and raised in Indiana. She was very much a tomboy growing up, climbing trees, playing with bugs, and playing sports. Rhonda attended public school in Indiana graduating 6th in her class.

She moved to Illinois for a job where she met her husband, Mark Zimmerman. She worked in retail management for 18 years before going back to school to get a degree in Elementary Education. After completing her 2nd degree, Rhonda worked at Peoria Public Schools first as, primarily, a science teacher then as a middle school interventionist. She became a volunteer for the Jr. Elite (ELITE K-8, https://eliteyouthoutreach.com/programs) at the school where she taught. Rhonda officially retired from teaching in May 2018, but went back part time as a certified tutor in the fall of 2018. She also joined the Service League of Peoria in the summer of 2018 where she's a volunteer at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

I just saw this post. My great-grandfather was killed in action during the Korean War. I am thankful for your father's service. I have created a Korean War sticker for him, if you're still interested. I have included the dates of his service in the sticker. I tested it, and it worked for me. Just add the same open bracket to the beginning { and the same closed bracket at the end }, so there are two at the beginning and end. If I paste is correctly, the sticker will appear and you my not be able to see the code. Enjoy!

{Korean War|branch=United States Army|startdate=8 Feb 1951|enddate=17 Feb 1954}

The sticker will look like this, with his name:
Rhonda (Tucker) Zimmerman served in the United States Army in the Korean War
Service started: 8 Feb 1951
Service ended: 17 Feb 1954

The Global Cemeteries Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Cemetery Teams? If not, is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google Groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their followed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (CEMETERIES) so you don't miss any discussions in G2G.

Last, but not least, we would like to thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and let you know that any ideas or suggestions for improvement you may have for the Global Cemeteries Project would greatly appreciated!

I look forward to hearing form you soon!

Hi Steve!

Yes I’m still interested in being part of the global cemeteries team and am active transcribing photos of gravestones (primary from Illinois and Indiana), posting photos to profiles when I find them and creating the cemeteries categories when they’re not here. I’ll check my tags to make sure cemeteries is there even though I already have both Illinois and Indiana Cemeteries there. Thanks Rhonda

Thanks Rhonda for the welcome. I'm starting to research my family tree. Just trying to get a feel for the site...Happy Easter... David

Thanks Rhonda for adding me! I've something around 2200 names so far in my family tree and I hope this will prove useful (errors excepted!) in building the goal of a "mankind" tree. I very much look forward to contributing as much as I can with both my existing information as well as other data I discover as my tree grows.

I am having some trouble taking my Carr tree back very far as my family all appear to have been itinerant journeymen boot makers, chair makers and labourers! I'm still looking for the link with the Royal Family! Once again thanks for the add and I'll pad out my profile etc as time permits (currently undergoing intensive in-patient chemotherapy for cancer) between my hospital stays. Best wishes David

Hi Rhonda,

On behalf of the Disasters Project Leaders we are carrying out a check-in to see how all the members are doing and taking the opportunity to thank you for all your hard work in the past.

We have recently made a lot of changes. We are changing the focus of the project to include more about people involved in disasters and the effect it had on them and their families. We have divided the project into teams. Please have a look https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Disasters

Please let me know, by comment on my profile or a private message, whether you are still active in the project, and which team(s) you would like to work with. What are you enjoying most about being in the project? What would you like to see improved or changed.

We're looking forward to hearing back from you,

Joan and Lizzie

Thank you so very much, hun, for being a part of Legacy Heirs during the 2020 Scan-A-Thon. I am blessed to have had you with me on the team. I hope you will join me for the future Thons too.
