Biography

Philip was born in 1827, the son of Thomas Anthony Tucker (abt.1790-abt.1871) and Elizabeth King (abt.1795-abt.1871).

He was baptised in Truro, Cornwall on 11 July 1837. [1]

In 1857, in Geelong, Victoria, he married Sophia Hill James (abt.1830-1913). [2]

One child is known:—

John King (1862-1932).

Philip passed away in 1908, aged 76. [3]

TUCKER.—On the 12th January, at his residence, 30 High-street, Northcote, Philip King, beloved husband of Sophia W. Tucker, late of Victorian Postal and Telegraph Department. Private interment.

Research Notes

The original dates given suggest death aged 80y 3m 29d, while death registry records death aged 76, ie. birth c. 1832.
